Clinical Assistant
Taylor graduated first in her class from the Dental Assisting program at Jefferson State Community College in 2017. Before she joined our Hometown family as an Orthodontic assistant, she previously worked for an Endodontist. Taylor has the sweetest smile, and a calmness about her that immediately puts patients at ease. When Taylor isn’t at work she loves to spend time with her family, friends and cuddle with her miniature GoldenDoodle, Dutton. Taylor is passionate about traveling, working out, and planning a good party.

Nancy graduated from UAB Dental Assisting program in 2021 and has been in the Dental field since 2019. Nancy completed her clinicals here at our office and once working alongside Nancy we knew we had to have her on our team! Her spunk and positive energy will bring a smile to your face. A cool fact about Nancy is that she is bilingual! Nancy enjoys traveling to Mexico to visit her family, in her spare time she loves to workout, read anything by Colleen Hoover, attend concerts with friends and anything that involves laughing or pranking her coworkers.
Clinical Assistant
Allie is one of the newest members of our team. Allie brings a warm and quiet spirit to our busy office and has been a very quick learner. Often, you might hear her singing while you are visiting our office… she loves to sing! She completed Jefferson State’s Dental Assisting Program in July 2019, and shortly after, joined our practice. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and playing with her pit baby, Lola.

Amanda has been working in the dental field since 1999. She is our Jack of all trades. Her favorite part of working in the orthodontic field is watching the outcome of our patient’s treatment and seeing their confidence improve. Amanda enjoys spending time with her family, husband and precious son, Seth. In her leisure time, she enjoys hunting, fishing, and horse-back riding.

Tania has spent her entire career in the orthodontic field. She brings a high degree of technical skill and knowledge to our office. Her sweet soul and soft spoken voice is reassuring for the most apprehensive patient. She is wife, a mom of three, and a grand-mommy of five which all keep her very busy outside of work. She loves the Lord and her family tremendously.

Kaitlin has been with us for a couple of years. Her fun and loving personality coupled with pride in her work always keeps our patients smiling. Kaitlin’s favorite part about her job is connecting with the patients and seeing their progress each time they come in. Kaitlin enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her sweet fur puppy, DJ. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors.
Accounts Manager/Lab Technician
Brooke is a certified orthodontic assistant and lab technician. She graduated from Wallace Dental Assisting School and has worked with Dr. Rape since 1997. Her positive personality and sweet spirit adds to a wonderful work environment. Brooke loves working with patients and fabricating appliances to help them reach their goal of a beautiful smile. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her awesome husband, Andy, and her sweet children, Laila and Cooper. Her daughter Laila attends Springville High School, and her son Cooper has Down syndrome and attends Springville Elementary.

Scheduling/Financial Coordinator
Shelby graduated from the Auburn Dental Assisting program in 2012, and has been in the orthodontic field since 2013. After many years of chairside assisting, she is now one of the first smiling faces you’ll see when you walk through our doors. She is here to answer any questions you have and help tailor an affordable orthodontic payment plan specific to your needs. She loves spending time with her husband, Austin, and sweet little boy, Dallas. She also enjoys weekend trips to the lake, building all kinds of Pinterest things, and lots and lots of pizza. Her sweet personality will make you feel right at home.

Treatment/Marketing Coordinator
Rachel has been in the orthodontic field since 2012. She is a graduate of the UAB School of Dentistry dental assisting program with many years of chairside experience; she is here to answer any of your orthodontic questions, from discussing your specific treatment recommendations to explaining your insurance and financial options. Rachel loves spending time with her wonderful husband, two precious children and three fur babies. When away from the office, you will likely find her at the ballpark or gym cheering her kids on, exploring new restaurants, attending music events and enjoying any adventure that she can share with her family and friends.

Practice Manager/Financial Coordinator
Haleigh joined our practice in September 2013. Her energetic personality is one you will hear often, either in the office or on the phone, she is always here to answer any questions you may have! Haleigh is responsible for the day-to-day running of the office, which encompasses a wide range of diverse tasks. She is here to ensure that each patient and parent receives an exceptional experience and that Hometown Orthodontics run smoothly for our patients, our team, and Dr. Rape. In addition to working full-time, Haleigh is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management. Outside of work & school, you will find her spending time with her fiancé, Taylor. Playing outdoors with her dog, Riggs, assisting in event planning, and enjoying time with her family & friends.

Dr. Rape received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in 1982. He then attended Emory University School of Dentistry in Atlanta where he received his D.D.S. degree graduating first in his class with highest honors. In 1989, Dr. Rape completed a three-year postgraduate orthodontic residency at UAB School of Dentistry and was awarded a Master’s Degree for his extensive orthodontic research. Dr. Rape has been in private practice for over 30 years, creating beautiful smiles for the Trussville/Clay, St. Clair, and Blount County communities.
Dr. Rape is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a prestigious award only a small percentage orthodontists ever achieve, and was voted one of America’s Top Orthodontists by the Consumers’ Research Council of America.
In addition to private practice, Dr. Rape serves as a clinical professor in the Department of Orthodontics at the UAB School of Dentistry, training residents from around the world. He is past president of UAB Orthodontic Alumni Association and is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics, Southern Association of Orthodontics, American Dental Association, and Alabama Dental Association.
Dr. Rape and his wife, Melissa, live in the Trussville area where they attend Faith Community Fellowship. Dr. Rape enjoys reading, CrossFit, traveling and just spending time with his four precious children and four grandchildren.
